Major Patch was my first boss as an Officer.
He was the Executive Officer of 1st Tank Battalion and over a span of a
few years, became much more to me: running partner, confidant, friend,
and fellow Horseman (a foursome of poker playing, marathon runners). His
unique personality and dry wit made for many fond memories.
In 2002, Major Brent Norquist sent this humorous
picture that had me laughing out loud. He mentioned that it should
have been over the desk of Major Patch, as his personality reflected the
sentiment to a tee. In response, this
is what I made and sent back.
